CONTA-CLIP has further enhanced its range of usability aids for VK cabling ducts, adding fast-mount wire holders. The wire holders can be clipped into the cabling ducts without tools. The company says they make it easier to neatly arrange conductors and keep signal and power lines clearly apart and they also simplify adding new wiring, since existing cables stay put and do not come lose and entangled when the cover is removed and last but not least, users will find it easier to clean their well-organised cabling duct of dust.

CONTA-CLIP reports it has added a transformer terminal for wire cross-sections up to 16 mm² to its TKS series. The terminals are used to adapt coil ends to screw connections to implement power supply of specific devices or machinery in a larger system. The company says their hinged cover elements open wide and can be fixed in place when opened to enable comfortable, time-saving soldering of the coil ends.

The UK’s largest provider of design, manufacture and support services for heat exchanger and boiler equipment has reportedly been created through a new partnership between Green’s and THORNHILL.

WANNER reports it has launched the Hydra-Cell T200 Series Medium Pressure, multi-diaphragm pump range, which in terms of flow rate and pressure are the highest performing pumps in the Hydra-Cell range and the biggest pumps ever produced by the company. The company says they feature a seal-less design that eliminates leaks, hazards and the expense associated with seals and packing; lowering the cost of ownership and giving a longer service life than competitive pumping technologies.

A purpose-built infra-red heating system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT, is being used by Edrington, the premium spirits company, to assist in regenerating casks. This is achieved by replacing the existing ends of refill casks with new toasted ends toasted in the Hereaus Infra-red toaster.

CONTA-CLIP has announced it has expanded its range of single-level push-in installation terminals, adding the FNT 16 neutral disconnect terminal for wire cross sections between 2.5 mm² and 25 mm² (up to 16 mm² with wire-end ferrules). The company says the push-in connection system allows for safe connection of wires without tools. When a solid wire or ferrule is inserted, the pressure spring opens automatically and establishes a secure contact.

EGE has announced it now offers IECEx-certified signal processing units for the growing range IECEx-approved two-wire sensors. The company says the certification greatly facilitates exporting the intrinsically safe sensors to many countries around the world – machine manufacturers and plant engineers can now use them in applications where they were previously barred or had to be specially certified in a tedious process.

Pipes and tubing are ubiquitous and form the arteries of most equipment, machines and systems, yet all can suffer from the same problem - whatever is in them can permeate out. VERSAPERM says the solution is its latest range of vapour permeability testing.

CONTA-CLIP says it continuously expands the KDS-FB flat ribbon cable entry system and the portfolio currently comprises a total of 13 cable entries with four frame widths and various divisions for flat and round cables. The latest addition is a pre-configured cable entry with five sealing elements to accommodate round cables. The new variant has a 39 mm x 120 mm frame size. The company says like all KDSClick cable management solutions, the KDS-FB line is based on a few basic components designed for tool-less assembly and tool-less placement into a frame. Once the one-piece frame is screwed on the opening from outside the enclosure or distribution cabinet, flat or round cables fitted with suitable sealing elements can simply be pushed in from the inside for a snug insertion.

WANNER reports it has introduced intelligent pump control for its Hydra-Cell pumps that it claims will generate significant savings while improving machined part quality.

For flow monitoring of aqueous or oily fluids in hygienic applications, EGE says it provides the STD flow controller with an aseptic Varivent F process adapter. The thermal sensor is suitable for use in category 2 hazardous areas. It detects flow velocities between 1 cm/s and 10 cm/s in water and between 3 cm/s and 200 cm/s in oil.

At an amine recycling plant, a BORGER Rotary Lobe Pump has been introduced to add sulphuric acid to an important neutralising process. Borger says this new pump has replaced a screw pump that had reoccurring problems with its sealing system.

MACSA ID UK – a division of Barcelona-based laser coding, marking and scoring equipment manufacturer, Macsa ID – has announced it will be showing its upgraded iLaserbox 450 laser marking work station at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show. The company says ideal for first time laser users, the more ergonomically designed unit now features a lateral instead of vertical door for improved ease of operation.

In a “UK first”, electrical engineering firm, LCA Group, reports it has switched its control panel operations from manual production to end-to-end automation, including laser-machining (www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d27sUtLL0U) and says the move is expected to transform its productivity and efficiency.

WIELAND ELECTRIC says its new wienet Managed Switches allow full control and diagnosis of industrial Ethernet networks and by means of standard ring topology, the switches allow redundant topologies and thereby boost network availability. These switches offer protection against unauthorised access/data traffic, greater resilience and prioritisation of data with real-time requirements.

Thermalert 4.0 spot pyrometers from FLUKE PROCESS INSTRUMENTS are said to enable precise monitoring of critical glass manufacturing processes such as annealing of glass bottles and containers. The noncontact infrared sensors measure product as well as belt temperatures. The company says that way, operators can ensure that the lehr is set correctly for products with different glass thicknesses and sizes, and that the transportation belt is heated correctly. The latter is especially important for glass containers with a thick bottom, to prevent uneven cooling and breakage. Continuous monitoring helps operators improve quality and uniformity and reduce reject rates. It also supports troubleshooting by detecting faulty burners under the transportation belt.

EGE has introduced the IGEX20a inductive proximity switch, and says it provides a very compact sensor for zone 0/20 hazardous areas that can be used without additional amplifiers. The company says IGEX20a is certified according to ATEX and IECEx and the IECEx certification simplifies worldwide use of the sensors. Certified for use in Ex zones 0 and 20, the proximity switches can be employed in hazardous areas with gas or dust atmospheres, for example in gas stations and facilities with gas-conveying parts.

Karl Lycett, Rittal UK’s product manager for climate control advises customers to make improvements now to be ready for next summer: “The temperatures may be feeling quite mild, but even if the thermometer hasn’t yet regularly dropped below zero, you’re probably no longer hearing the alarms on your cooling units. While this is likely to mean you’re spending less time maintaining overheating panels, it would be a mistake to forget about climate control.

Hydra-Cell High Pressure Coolant Pumps from WANNER are claimed to be the most energy efficient, machine tool coolant pumps available, measured at upwards of 80%, pump shaft to hydraulic power.

US DIGITAL has announced its E4T and S4T miniature optical encoders are now available at even higher resolutions than before and with two new CPRs of 512 and 1,000 it has successfully doubled the resolution while keeping the housing unchanged.

FLUKE has introduced two new motor drive analysers to simplify complex motor-drive troubleshooting. The company says the portable Fluke MDA-510 and MDA-550 Motor Drive Analysers save time and eliminate the hassle of setting up complex measurements, while simplifying the troubleshooting process. Guided graphical test set-ups show where to make connections and a built-in report generator provides records of actions taken. SANDVIK has announced that TW Metals UK will be a preferred distributor for a range of products including Sandvik hydraulic & instrumentation tubing and high temperature piping products in England.

MAKITA reports it has launched its first cordless twin 18V LXT Brushless Angle Drill featuring all the power and performance of a mains machine whilst benefiting from the freedom and manoeuvrability that only a battery powered tool can provide. The DDA460ZK is powered by two Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries giving 36V power from the Brushless motor which not only extends runtime but substantially increases power.

The British Compressed Gases Association reports it has completed a comprehensive review of one of its most widely consulted safety guidance codes within the manufacturing sector.

Combining two devices using two different temperature measurement technologies, FLUKE PROCESS INSTRUMENTS says it provides the glass industry with more information on high-value applications like float glass manufacturing, glass tempering, and windshield forming and laminating.

Winch systems may need protection when lowering a load to prevent the possibility of over speeding and consequential damage or injury. Typical transmissions comprise a motor fitted with failsafe brake and hand release, connected to the geared winch system. However such control does not always protect against over speeding whilst lowering a load or when manually controlling decent in the event of power failure.

RITTAL reports it has added 20 and 35 kW output classes to its portfolio of refrigerant-based IT cooling solutions, meaning it can now offer a cooling solution from 3 kW right through to 55 kW.
