WANNER reports it has launched the Hydra-Cell T200 Series Medium Pressure, multi-diaphragm pump range, which in terms of flow rate and pressure are the highest performing pumps in the Hydra-Cell range and the biggest pumps ever produced by the company. The company says they feature a seal-less design that eliminates leaks, hazards and the expense associated with seals and packing; lowering the cost of ownership and giving a longer service life than competitive pumping technologies.
A purpose-built infra-red heating system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT, is being used by Edrington, the premium spirits company, to assist in regenerating casks. This is achieved by replacing the existing ends of refill casks with new toasted ends toasted in the Hereaus Infra-red toaster.

The company says the push-in connection system allows for safe connection of wires without tools. When a solid wire or ferrule is inserted, the pressure spring opens automatically and establishes a secure contact.
EGE has announced it now offers IECEx-certified signal processing units for the growing range IECEx-approved two-wire sensors. The company says the certification greatly facilitates exporting the intrinsically safe sensors to many countries around the world – machine manufacturers and plant engineers can now use them in applications where they were previously barred or had to be specially certified in a tedious process.

WANNER reports it has introduced intelligent pump control for its Hydra-Cell pumps that it claims will generate significant savings while improving machined part quality.
For flow monitoring of aqueous or oily fluids in hygienic applications, EGE says it provides the STD flow controller with an aseptic Varivent F process adapter. The thermal sensor is suitable for use in category 2 hazardous areas. It detects flow velocities between 1 cm/s and 10 cm/s in water and between 3 cm/s and 200 cm/s in oil.
At an amine recycling plant, a BORGER Rotary Lobe Pump has been introduced to add sulphuric acid to an important neutralising process. Borger says this new pump has replaced a screw pump that had reoccurring problems with its sealing system.

Thermalert 4.0 spot pyrometers from FLUKE PROCESS INSTRUMENTS are said to enable precise monitoring of critical glass manufacturing processes such as annealing of glass bottles and containers. The noncontact infrared sensors measure product as well as belt temperatures. The company says that way, operators can ensure that the lehr is set correctly for products with different glass thicknesses and sizes, and that the transportation belt is heated correctly. The latter is especially important for glass containers with a thick bottom, to prevent uneven cooling and breakage. Continuous monitoring helps operators improve quality and uniformity and reduce reject rates. It also supports troubleshooting by detecting faulty burners under the transportation belt.
EGE has introduced the IGEX20a inductive proximity switch, and says it provides a very compact sensor for zone 0/20 hazardous areas that can be used without additional amplifiers. The company says IGEX20a is certified according to ATEX and IECEx and the IECEx certification simplifies worldwide use of the sensors. Certified for use in Ex zones 0 and 20, the proximity switches can be employed in hazardous areas with gas or dust atmospheres, for example in gas stations and facilities with gas-conveying parts.
