One-of-a-kind conveyor belt

MINITEC says it has proved its expertise once again in delivering unique and custom-made products to its broad range of clients – with its one-of-a-kind 9-metre conveyor belt. The Basingstoke-based engineering company was approached to find a solution for a client with a very specific wish list for its factory, including an unusually long and seemless assembly line.
Minitec says its expert team quickly designed and built the customised conveyor system – pictured during testing at the factory – which is used for sorting cast zinc sawn parts from an existing manufacturing process.
Included in the design, is a hard-wearing belt to cope with transporting the metal parts onto the frame, which is itself made up of MiniTec parts ranging from 25mm diameter x 25mm long to 60mm diameter. The height adjustable guide rails were also manufactured to be well-equipped to cope with the demanding production requirements and variety of parts which will pass over them.

LAMINA DIELECTRICS specialises in the manufacture of heat shrink tubes and endcaps for electrical insulation applications and says it has developed unique spiral-winding and extrusion technology which uses UL recognised materials for its range of tubes and endcaps. During 2017 Lamina says it made significant investment in its manufacturing systems which included updating its statistical process control software as part of its ongoing support for its automatic inspection equipment.
