Door comes clean

The Speedor pictured, manufactured and installed by HART DOOR SYSTEMS, has been fitted in a pharmaceuticals production facility in Cambridge. Mark Richardson, sales manager, says the door was installed in a wash-down area for parts of the plant used in the manufacturing process.
“Essentially a door was required to meet the air pressures within each room and maintain a clean room standard environment,” says Mr Richardson. “A particular feature was that the door had no surface mounted cables with all of them being fitted in the door hood before installation on site. This facilitates cleaning. The 1800 mm wide x 2100 mm high door is also fitted with a door mounted, overhead, safety sensor.”

HART DOOR SYSTEMS reports it has supplied GT Emissions Systems, Peterlee, with a Speedor Super that has been fitted behind a roller shutter in its warehouse area. GT Emissions is at the forefront of the design, validation and manufacture of exhaust gas control valves for on and off highway vehicles. Hart Door Systems says its Speedor was installed to retain heat within the warehouse and to prevent cold air and dust entering the building.
When the directors of panel builders Pneumatechnique were looking at ways to improve efficiency and offer better production consistency they turned to RITTAL and its automation systems for switchgear construction. One of the main issues the company faced was the underemployment of the highly skilled labour force. This had become obvious during an evaluation of work practices that considered how customer demand was being met, and how the company in turn made demands on production as an “internal customer”.
