Advanced production plant

RITTAL reports it is expanding its production capabilities and building an advanced production plant for compact enclosures in Haiger, Germany, with completion scheduled for 2018. The company says the total capital expenditure will amount to 250 million euros, making it the largest single investment in the company’s history and state-of-the-art infrastructure and digitisation will underpin highly-efficient production, logistics and communications processes.
Rittal says there will be corresponding upgrades to two other plants in the region, and the construction of a further plant for large stainless-steel enclosures. The 24,000 m² Haiger facility will manufacture 9,000 enclosures a day from 300 standard types, in accordance with each customer’s specific needs. Digital technology will play a key role, as will machining and assembly tools from Rittal Automation Systems’ portfolio.

RITTAL has announced that users of its enclosure cooling technology are being offered free on-site inspection surveys to ensure that their production and process critical equipment is being adequately protected.
After five years' development work, RITTAL reports it has unveiled its new VX25 large enclosure system at the 2018 Hanover Trade Fair.
Manufacturing switchgear can be very labour intensive, despite the advances in automation, there is still a huge amount of manual work involved in cutting and machining busbars, support rails and cable ducts. RITTAL AUTOMATION SYSTEMS says it is now offering new and improved machines and tools that will help automate or part-automate these previously time-consuming activities.
RITTAL says busbar systems, or busbar supports are essentially heavy conductors, typically made of copper, which carry and distribute powerful electric currents to components that consume electrical power throughout an assembly. The company says busbars are not only easy to install (certainly compared to cabling), but they also play a major role in the design and safe operation of a switchgear and controlgear assembly.
