Process heating order

Published:  24 February, 2014

Drake Extrusion, a leading European manufacturer of polypropylene fibres and yarns, has installed two new BABCOCK WANSON TPC1000B Thermal Fluid Heaters in its Huddersfield plant.

Drake Extrusion has been using a small steam generator since 2001 and a thermal fluid heater, both built by Babcock Wanson, although still operational, this equipment is reaching the end of its natural life providing the opportunity to upgrade and save substantial energy costs.

Two Babcock Wanson TPC1000B gas fired Thermal Fluid Heaters have been installed in their place allowing Drake to reduce fuel costs by replacing electrical heating with natural gas and also freeing up space as the new heaters have been installed in external housing.
