Major contract completed

HART DOOR SYSTEMS, a leading designer and manufacturer of both commercial doors and industrial doors, has announced it has completed a major contract for a range of doors and shutters at Nissan Manufacturing UK’s car plant, Sunderland.
Working with Unipress and Sir Robert McAlpine, the contract involved installing new doors and shutters and removing other doors in what was an active manufacturing environment.
In all, seven Hart Speedor Storms were installed and a range of shutters both fire and insulated. The company says the completion of this contract continues the excellent relationship with Nissan with some 200 Hart doors now on site.
A Hart spokesman says the manufacturing environment at Nissan is “a good platform to demonstrate Hart’s doors’ robustness and reliability” adding that Hart has been supplying a range of doors for over 30 years with Hart accounting for around 90% of all doors on site.
From its own office and manufacturing facility in Newcastle upon Tyne, Hart says it designs and manufactures its industrial door systems for a very wide range of sectors, often requiring bespoke solutions and this is a customer-friendly and highly innovative company.

LAMINA DIELECTRICS specialises in the manufacture of heat shrink tubes and endcaps for electrical insulation applications and says it has developed unique spiral-winding and extrusion technology which uses UL recognised materials for its range of tubes and endcaps. During 2017 Lamina says it made significant investment in its manufacturing systems which included updating its statistical process control software as part of its ongoing support for its automatic inspection equipment.
LEE SPRING says its stand at Southern Manufacturing (Stand J104) will show a selection of springs and fasteners that are typically specified for the manufacturing and electronics industries.
ARCO says the UK is currently the 11th largest manufacturing nation in the world; with manufacturing making up 54% of UK exports and directly employing 2.6 million people. With UK manufacturing remaining a key industrial sector and precision assembly increasingly required, the company says it is important that hands are suitably protected.
