UKAS accreditations for energy & engineering technical services

Published:  23 January, 2024

Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspection, and certification, has announced that it has been awarded two new accreditations by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) to deliver services on behalf of its energy and engineering technical service business units, ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 and ISO/IEC 17065:2012.

ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 - This accreditation standard establishes a framework to ensure any audits and certifications demonstrate proficiency in evaluating and verifying compliance with management system standards.

ISO/IEC 17065:2012 - This validates Bureau Veritas’ competence in certifying the quality of products, processes, and services, whilst enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the company.

The newly acquired certifications are a result of the transition from ISO17020 accreditations that Bureau Veritas UK has held since the original induction of EU New Approach Directives. It further highlights the quality of service that the company is delivering to meet the evolving needs of clients, proving it can manage the new accreditations that are required as a result of moving to outside the EU, supporting the application of UKCA mark in the manufacturing sector related to Pressure Equipment, Machinery and Lift regulations.

As the company continues to expand its services in the energy and engineering service sector, these accreditations provide advantage to clients by instilling trust and confidence in the service provision. It also contributes to maintaining high standards in audit and certification processes across diverse management systems, as well as products, processes, and services in accordance with globally recognised standards.

Sammy Tweddle, Energy Director, comments on the importance of these accreditations: “We are delighted to have received these accreditations from UKAS. It reflects our dedication to maintaining the highest standards in our engineering services and also provides assurance to our clients and stakeholders that Bureau Veritas is well equipped to navigate the changing regulatory landscape in the energy and manufacturing sectors. As we look to the future, these will play a crucial role in enhancing the value we bring, especially where compliance with stringent standards is essential.”

Our clients also added: “We have worked with Bureau Veritas for PESR certification of the Dry Gas Seal Gas Conditioning System skids for our client. The teamwork and regular communications helped us to prepare and list the documentation and navigate through the complex requirements, ensuring full compliance.

“The team's professionalism, expertise, and dedication to excellence have undoubtedly set a high standard within the industry, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Bureau Veritas for future accreditation needs.”
