Annual event receives glowing reviews

Held at ExCeL London in May, GEO Business showcased cutting-edge technologies, ground-breaking innovations, and an insightful education programme. With over 3950 total attendees, the packed-out event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and exploration of emerging trends.

Landhawk, a GIS land search and assessment Proptech platform provider, comments on its visit: “GEO Business 2023 delivered on all fronts. As expected, it delivered a wealth of opportunities for learning, networking and collaborating.

“The London ExCeL was packed full of start-ups, established industry names, innovators and experts all keen to share recent developments in the geospatial technology realm.”

The successful show brought the geospatial community from all parts of the world together, fostering collaboration and unlocking new opportunities for growth.

Sorin Popa, a Video Producer and Point Cloud CAD, 3D BIM Fly Through Creator at 90 Degree travelled all the way from Romania to attend.

“GEO Business was an absolute blast, filled with innovation, networking, and a sense of belonging in the geospatial community. Attending was a game-changer for me,” said Popa.

Andrei Șueran, Managing Partner at GRAPHEIN echoed this, commenting: “I have yet to experience another summit that manages to gather professionals from all around the world in such a cosy setting, making learning from each other an enjoyable event.”

The bustling show floor featured over 100 leading companies, start-ups, industry bodies and organisations at the forefront of geospatial.

Attendees had the opportunity to experience live demonstrations of state-of-the-art technologies, including remote sensing, GIS software, drone mapping, LiDAR, and augmented reality.

The leading equipment manufacturers, software companies and service providers that exhibited included Certainty 3D (TopoDOT), Esri UK, GeoMax, GeoSLAM, Hexagon, L3Harris Geospatial, Microgeo, NavVis, Ordnance Survey, Reduct nv, RIEGL, Senceive, Spyrosoft, TopCon Positioning, and UCL.

Commenting on his visit, Geospatial Services Lead at Jacobs, Simon Navin noticed “tech everywhere! Again! Some amazing technology exists in our industry.”

This immersive exhibition unveiled the next generation of geospatial solutions, providing a glimpse into how these advancements are reshaping industries and revolutionising data-driven decision-making.

The CPD-accredited education programme at GEO Business was hosted across six stages. Over 120 carefully curated talks, workshops and demos were presented by expert speakers from across the profession.

Topics covered a range of different applications for geospatial, including the built environment, infrastructure, transport, utilities and energy, surveying, mapping, and land and natural resource management. 

Speakers from 1Spatial, Arup, Atkins, Hexagon, Jacobs, Ordnance Survey, Geospatial Commission, Topcon and Wood PLC were just a few examples of big names in geospatial who were part of the line-up.

Asset Information Coordinator at Skanska, Sakshi Kosta, comments on speaking at the show: “It was such a privilege to present my ideas at the GEO Business event.

“It was a great experience to learn, inspire and spark conversations about my chosen subject while sharing insights.”
