Published: 13 June, 2017
Rockwell Automation’s first Customer Center for The Connected Enterprise in EMEA was opened recently an event attended by PWE at the Center’s base in the technology city of Karlsruhe, Germany.
Rockwell Automation explained that its approach to The Connected Enterprise offers customers a fully developed concept with which they can already start implementing many smart factory precepts today. The Customer Center helps customers experience the opportunities of digitalisation in an interactive way and develop tailored strategies together with Rockwell Automation. The new Customer Center further strengthens the company’s presence in EMEA and underscores the importance of this market for it.
Rockwell Automation has already successfully implemented The Connected Enterprise concept in its own manufacturing facilities as part of its journey towards digitalisation. Customers can now use the Customer Center to leverage the company’s expertise and experience the benefits of digitalisation live on site. In theory, enterprises understand the potential of the smart factory. Interlinking production and IT systems more closely increases efficiency and reduces costs while saving resources. With intelligent monitoring and transparent processes, companies have a detailed view of operations at all times. They can optimise their production and respond fast to market changes without making any compromises on quality – and that helps them maintain their competitive edge. The Rockwell Automation Customer Center brings these advantages to life by demonstrating the opportunities of digitalisation. Visitors can see interactive demos and application examples, as well as live views of operations in the manufacturing facilities of Rockwell Automation with real-time access to production data. Rockwell Automation specialists can also provide advice, tailored to the specific needs of each company, on the best way to implement smart factory precepts.
The Karlsruhe Customer Center shows visitors how the holistic Connected Enterprise approach works in practice and allows them to securely connect production and IT systems throughout their companies. Its foundation is the Rockwell Automation broad-based solution and service portfolio, ranging from the network and security infrastructure based on proven industry standards, through to the integration of production and IT on the enterprise level.
“As part of our Connected Enterprise concept, we’ve developed an Execution Model to support our customers in implementing the smart factory vision today, explained Thomas Donato, President Europe, Middle East and Africa, Rockwell Automation. “Our new Customer Center provides the ideal environment to help them tackle each of the stages recommended. We start by reviewing their current situation and clarifying expectations. Next, we define the goals together, decide on the scope and create a concept tailored to the individual customer needs. Through the Customer Center the benefits of The Connected Enterprise are getting obvious to customers much more quickly.”
Moving forward, Rockwell Automation will also hold staff, PartnerNetwork member and customer training sessions in the new customer center. The company is also planning seminars for students on hot topics like smart factories, big data and the Internet of Things.
