MTC honoured with Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence

Published:  10 July, 2024

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) has been awarded a Silver Award through the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

The Silver Award recognises the organisation’s commitment to supporting both the defence sector and the armed forces community, aligning its values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

As part of the award criteria, the MTC proactively demonstrated that service personnel and the armed forces community are not unfairly disadvantaged as part of their recruitment processes, as well as offering adjustments for employees navigating the balance between a role in the Reserves and their role at MTC.

Dr Graham Hoare, CEO at The Manufacturing Technology Centre, said: “We are honoured to receive this Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence. At MTC our people are at the heart of everything we do. Our colleagues from the armed forces community play a hugely important role within our organisation, offering a unique skillset and invaluable experience. It is integral to us as an employer that we create a supportive working environment at the MTC, and this award underscores our team’s continued dedication to this.”
