Infra-red heating system

A fast response medium wave (FRMW) infra-red heating system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT is reported to be helping Dura Automotive Systems of Castle Bromwich to ensure the reliable and precise adhesion of molded thermoplastic sealings to custom-designed, automotive glass windows. The system is located in a robotic cell and integrates exactly with the robot cycle.
Unlike a warm air oven, an infra-red system takes up very little space, can be precisely controlled to synchronise with the robot operations and can be very energy-efficient. Tests were carried out at Heraeus Noblelight’s applications centre in Neston, Wirral, and these proved so successful that a 24 kW Carbon medium infra red (CIR) system was installed in the robot manufacturing cell.

A purpose-built carbon infra-red oven has reportedly been instrumental in allowing Duerr’s of Manchester to change from a hot water rinse system to a cold air rinse system at its Wythenshawe jam-making site. As a result, water-usage and water-heating bills have been significantly reduced and more effective control has been established over the total jar heating and rinsing process.
A custom-built, fast response medium wave (FRMW) infra-red heating system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT is helping in the production line fitting of sound-deadening pads to the Jaguar F-TYPE at Jaguar Land Rover’s manufacturing site at Castle Bromwich. Following successful tests carried out at Heraeus’s Neston Applications Centre, a compact 12 kW medium wave infra-red oven was installed at the pad fitting location on the production line. This is contained within a 1.6m aluminium framework, which features two heated zones, each equipped with three, 2kW fast response medium wave emitters with integral gold reflectors for maximum efficiency.
A custom-built, short-wave infra-red system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT is reported to be helping to save energy and allow faster production line speeds at the Cramlington manufacturing site of RENOLIT.
