Certification boosts demand

QUANTITECH reports it has experienced a surge in demand for the Gasmet portable FTIR emissions analyser, the DX4000. “We believe that this instrument is now the only portable FTIR with MCERTS certification, and this is driving demand for both instrument rental and sales,” says Dominic Duggan.
The company says the Gasmet DX4000 portable FTIR gas analyser is typically used in stack emissions monitoring, comparison measurements, catalytic process control and other applications where multiple gas compounds need to be accurately monitored in a hot and humid sample gas. The corrosion resistant sample cell is heated to 180 °C, which ensures that the sample stays in the gaseous phase even with high concentrations of moisture or corrosive gases. QUANTITECH says it has supplied large numbers of MCERTS approved FID analysers in the UK for many years and these instruments are employed for the monitoring of TOC gas emissions in regulated processes. However, the company says the Bernath 3006 analyser has been discontinued so it has launched the portable SK Elektronik Thermo-FID PT, which offers improved performance and enjoys MCERTS approval.

QUANTITECH says its stand at AQE 2015, the air quality and emissions show, will feature 3 different technologies for measuring individual organic compounds. VOCs mostly exist in mixtures so measurements can be misleading unless the individual compounds are speciated.
QUANTITECH has announced that the Gasmet Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS II e) and the portable (DX4000) FTIR analysers have been awarded an MCERTS certificate demonstrating compliance with the MCERTS Performance Standards defined in EN 14181. The certificate demonstrates enhanced performance across an extended range of gases.
