Bespoke mobile yardramps

Loading and unloading specialist THORWORLD INDUSTRIES has designed and manufactured two bespoke mobile yardramps to recycling expert BCR Global Textiles, to help manoeuvre the increasing number of clothing containers currently being processed by the organisation.
Based on the proven design of Thorworld’s 10,000kg capacity Type 7 ramp, the bespoke models have been specifically designed for lateral movement with the inclusion of telescopic legs. This makes them an ideal solution for BCR Global, which required additional ramp loading apparatus to service an increase in volume, but for whom space presents an issue at their West Bromwich facility.
Thorworld Industries was asked to suggest an appropriate loading and unloading solution for BCR’s West Bromwich facility, which does not contain a permanent loading bay.

Gloucestershire businessman Andrew Robinson, a director of Stonehouse-based ARC ENERGY RESOURCES, has won the director development category in the 2014 Institute of Directors (IoD) South West regional awards. Andrew, aged 28, was the highest scorer in the SW IoD Certificate in Company Direction, which encompasses the core knowledge and awareness necessary to function effectively as a director.
STREET CRANE COMPANY has supplied electric wire rope hoists for a major role in the reconstruction of the 107 year old Longfellow Bridge over Charles River at Cambridge, Massachusetts. The hoists are installed on a bespoke crane built by Street’s local partner Capco Crane and Hoist Company. The crane will play a pivotal role in the renovation of the bridge that spans 1.5 miles and carries around 90,000 people per day.
