DIRECT AIR & PIPEWORK says it will be on stand 82 at Maintec 2018 offering free full compressed air system assessments with the potential to reduce business costs and improve carbon footprint.

Baxters Food Group says it is using an ABB variable speed drive (VSD) to help ensure consistent mixing of its range of sauces, dressing and marinades. The drive is used to adjust the mixer motor’s speed based on requirements for a particular product.

FLUKE PROCESS INSTRUMENTS says it provides a dedicated temperature profiler for aluminum vacuum brazing furnaces. The company says the Datapaq Furnace Tracker system automatically generates CQI-9 and AMS 2750E reports and it is designed for frequent use, even during normal production.

RITTAL says a new electronic motor controller is now available for its RiLine Compact busbar system. The company says all it takes is a matter of seconds for the controller to simply clip the controller onto the busbar and its easy wiring means installation costs are lower than those for traditional electro-mechanical devices.

A fast response, medium wave infra-red system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT is helping to maintain the high quality of woven silks at the factory of Stephen Walters. The silk finishing machine at Stephen Walters needed modernising to improve the control of the process, both in terms of the steam delivery to the fabric and the consistency of temperature across the heated rollers. FLUKE PROCESS INSTRUMENTS has announced a new line of thermal imagers with integrated visible-light cameras: ThermoView TV40 and says the fixed-installation imagers enable 24/7 temperature monitoring in a -10 °C to 1200 °C range. The company says developed to meet today’s demanding industrial automation requirements, they support GigE streaming of images, automatic alarms, analysis and archiving and images from multiple devices can be combined for display and analysis. Various field-interchangeable lens options are available, including wide-angle lenses.

INDUSTRIA BEARINGS & TRANSMISSIONS, a specialist bearing distributor, has announced the arrival of a new range of JTekt Hyper Strong spherical roller bearings from leading Japanese manufacturer, Koyo.

FLUKE PROCESS INSTRUMENTS reports it offers a dedicated, robust solution for monitoring Claus reactors during the recovery of elemental sulfur from process streams. In this setup, ATEX-certified infrared thermometers measure temperatures inside the furnace with short response times. Temperature control of the sulfur recovery process is vital since temperature variations can upset the chemical reaction. Conventionally, thermocouples are used for this application.

CONTA-CLIP says accompanying the KDSClick cable entry system, it supplies easy-to-install, galvanised EMC rails for safe and secure shield termination of cables. KDS-EMV-SAB type rails are attached to the KDSClick mounting screws inside control cabinets and secured with a nut.

Launched recently in a global release, SICK says its next-generation W16 and W26 smart sensors with “BluePilot” alignment are at the helm of a streamlined portfolio of photoelectric sensors, radically-upgraded to optimise ease-of-use with complete object detection reliability. The company says the W16 and W26 proximity, reflex and through-beam sensors are manufactured at a purpose-built, fully-automated production facility in southern Germany and they mark the culmination of a two-year, €multi-million research and development project involving extensive consultation with SICK customers worldwide.

Manufacturing switchgear can be very labour intensive, despite the advances in automation, there is still a huge amount of manual work involved in cutting and machining busbars, support rails and cable ducts. RITTAL AUTOMATION SYSTEMS says it is now offering new and improved machines and tools that will help automate or part-automate these previously time-consuming activities.
