High performance seal products

Published:  24 February, 2014

The Moontown company was established in 1996, operating as a distributor for PTFE spring energised seals, together with associated fluid sealing products. The company says it has an expanding customer base, with an established reputation for the supply of quality products, supported with technical advice gained from many years of experience of solving sealing problems associated with a wide range of applications and industries.

It has developed the technical knowledge for solving problems associated where extremes of temperature, pressure and friction occur including sealing applications involving hazardous or aggressive chemicals.Following a recent move to new premises together with the investment in production machinery, MOONTOWN LTD is also now able to offer a full seal manufacturing and stocking facility from its UK base in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham. With in-house moulding/sintering/ machining and spring manufacture (including laser welding) being undertaken at the new premises, the company says it is proud to claim its products are ‘Manufactured in England’. The company says it will be able to maintain a tighter control over materials, quality and production procedures, which it anticipates will be beneficial to existing and new customers.

Typical spring energised seals can be supplied up to 1400mm diameter and hydraulic seals up to 2500mm, designed for either linear/ rotary or flange face seal applications. Effective sealing solutions can be achieved with PTFE spring energised and hydraulic seals for applications in the chemical, oil and gas, automotive, food and pharmaceuticals as well as a wide range of general engineering fields.
