Formation of first global mezzanine company

Published:  12 March, 2020

UK’s number 1 mezzanine supplier, Mezzanine International Ltd, owned by MiTek, has announced it is cementing its position within the MiTek family of brands – along with sister companies, Mezzanine Europe GmbH in Germany and Cubic Designs Inc in the US – to form the first global mezzanine company: MiTek Mezzanine Systems.

MiTek – part of Berkshire Hathaway – acquired the US mezzanine specialist, Cubic Designs Inc, in 2013 followed by Mezzanine International and Mezzanine Europe in 2017. MiTek says it has experienced growing demand from its customer base to form a single, global mezzanine company in order to provide greater capacity to handle very large, complex projects, economies of scale, enhanced access to the latest technologies through shared investment in R&D, and a wider and more unified service network. The existing management teams and staff in all regions will be working together to create solutions to larger challenges in the material handling and logistics industries.

“Our three operations have been working more closely together on a number of projects for global clients,” explained Mezzanine International’s managing director, Scott Chambers. “Repositioning us together under the MiTek Mezzanine Systems brand – thereby forming the first truly global mezzanine supplier – is the next logical step. Our focus will be on bringing our local solutions to new global partnerships and current customers, recognising the needs in the different regions we serve.”

In the UK, MiTek Mezzanine Systems says it will continue to specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of future-proofed mezzanine flooring systems that are designed to integrate fully with industrial and commercial environments and applications. The company offers its own steel mezzanine systems – the patented Mezzanine7 solution and the MezzHead add-on brackets, as well as Mezzanine Standard with a lightweight construction and fast assembly – to provide turnkey solutions that deliver flexibility, strength and ease of installation.
