Shutdown valves for engines

Published:  25 April, 2014

wyndham_20140317LRDB.jpgDiesel engine protection equipment manufacturer, WYNDHAM PAGE, reports it has launched a new range of cost-competitive shutdown valves for diesel engine overspeed protection in areas in which hazardous concentrations of flammable gas or vapours may exist.

The V series mechanical action valves use a new concept design offering enhanced safety and operational advantages to automatically close the air intake once a pre-set engine speed is exceeded - said to challenge traditional overspeed protection valves that have remained unchanged in their basic operation for several decades.

Suitable for both normally aspirated and turbocharged diesel engines up to 275kW (370 HP), these compact valves can improve on the established differential pressure intake airflow principle for automatic shutdown. They also incorporate a manual emergency shutdown feature.
