The company Beck+Heun GmbH needs a lot of process heat for the production of roller shutter casings. The efficiency has been increased by 20 percent by using a new steam boiler system from Bosch. Installed efficiency components recover thermal energy from flue gas, waste water and exhaust vapour and using it for heating up feed and make-up water. This reduces the fuel costs considerably.

Oil and gas-fired boilers have been providing the heating requirements for many industrial and commercial premises for over 100 years. In that time the energy efficiency of these installations has increased steadily, however there is a way to significantly reduce energy consumption that is still not universally applied and yet has a typical payback period of less than 18 months.
For industrial compressed-air plants, the cost of acquisition accounts on average for only about 30% of the total lifecycle cost. The remaining 70% - energy costs. The good news is: upgrading to the latest compressed-air technology can reduce those costs significantly. It is no surprise then that energy efficiency remained top of the agenda at ComVac, at this year's Hannover Fair.
