Psion Teklogix
Published:  15 June, 2007

Psion Teklogix (IMHX stand: 18M94) will use IMHX to launch a number of new additions to its range of mobile computing, wireless data collection, imaging, voice and RFID solutions. On show for the first time in the UK include new additions to the company’s range of vehicle-mounted computers and the latest version of Psion’s Workabout Pro Speech – a hand-held data collection terminal with voice technology and Integrated Speech Module that enables users to pick and put-away by voice, then scan or image a bar code or read an RFID transponder.

Making its debut at the show will be the model 8515 entry level vehicle-mounted computer. Intended for use primarily with forklift trucks operating within a warehousing, port or other industrial environment, the 8515 is aimed at those users who consider other vehicle mounted terminals either too big or too expensive. Its compact dimensions make it highly compatible with smaller counterbalanced trucks and other warehouse materials handling equipment.

Measuring only 195mm x 210mm and weighing a mere 1.5kg, the lightweight 8515 can be mounted on surfaces normally too weak to accommodate heavier vehicle-based computers. The 8515’s easy to clean, PC-style alphanumeric keyboard features a large enter key and highlighted numeric keys for fast and accurate data entry.
