Hansen employee clocks up 40 years service

Published:  18 December, 2007

Hansen Transmissions' longest serving employee has just celebrated 40 years service with the company.

Doug Skinner, regional sales manager, began working as an apprentice for the power

transmissions specialists when they were based in Rochester, Kent, moving north when the company relocated their business to Leeds in 1978. Hansen Transmissions later moved to its existing premises in Huddersfield.

Skinner commented: "Over the course of my 40 years with Hansen, I have seen many changes within the company.” He added: “Certainly, from the UK perspective, I have seen Hansen grow from a relatively small supplier of gearboxes to become a market leader. This is reflected in the growth of Hansen internationally, with many significant changes - notably the growth of the Wind Energy market. I look forward to the future as Hansen continues to develop and goes from strength to strength.”
