Latest generation of drive belts

Published:  07 April, 2007

Gates Industrial Power Transmission division recently used the Hannover Fair as a platform to introduce its latest generation of rubber and urethane drive belts. Gates says its continuous research to synchronous belts has lead to the development of a new Poly Chain belt with a high power carrying capacity. This new belt was shown at the fair using real applications.

Also new in Gates' range is the Predator high-tech Powerband - claimed to be the most aggressive V-belt ever made for shock-loaded applications.

For lifting and handling applications Gates has introduced the Liftpower, a new open-ended flat belt. This belt is an ideal maintenance-free alternative to hydraulic cylinders in scissors-type lifting tables and to chains and steel cables in vertical transport of motor vehicles in high rise stores.
