Petro-Canada has announced the launch of a new product range called Purity FG with Microl - an antimicrobial preservative for use in food grade lubricants.

Purity FG with Microl is available as a grease, hydraulic or gear fluid and is claimed to be the only food grade lubricant on the market that is fully compliant with both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and EPA regulatory requirements. Further registrations are pending in Europe, Australia and Latin America.

"Purity FG with Microl is a significant development in the food processing industry,” says Nicolas Joujou, category manager, Petro-Canada Lubricants. “This new product line inhibits microbial growth in the lubricant to prevent degradation in plant-tough environments.”

Food processing machinery lubricants have some unique challenges. Stringent regulations, harsh environmental conditions and rigorous plant operations require a well-designed food grade lubricant. Petro-Canada says it has established a reputation in quality and performance with its Purity industrial food grade line.
